Baptist General Convention of Texas The Baptist General Convention of Texas is one of two state Conventions in Texas. This is the older, more established convention. Southern Baptists of Texas Convention The Southern Baptist of Texas Convention is one of two state Baptist conventions in Texas. It is an organization of voluntarily cooperating Baptist churches who unite together to accomplish missions and ministry. It is the younger of the two conventions in Texas.
