God is good ... all the time!

Growing God's Kingdom

HERE WE GROW!

The vision of Arcadia First Baptist Church is to present Jesus Christ so that lost souls are drawn to Him through ministry and discipleship and to encourage fellowship in Christ for support.

To meet the ever-increasing needs of our city, state, and world, we must have a strong base. Essential to that foundation is the necessary physical facilities. Our present building is inadequate to meet our present needs, much less the needs of the future. We thank God that He has opened a way for us to say, “Let’s build.”

We all have the opportunity to help “build” by participating in our Growing God’s Kingdom – Here We Grow! Campaign. Let’s all do our part to put our vision into reality.

Loran Lance, Campaign Team Lay Leader and Dr. Rick Smith, Pastor met to discuss financing. They are leading in the campaign to raise $3,200,000.00 for the new building.

Our Growing God’s Kingdom Campaign will use over 100 volunteers on Committees and Teams. There are many important positions yet to be filled. Be ready to say “yes” when you are asked to serve. If you are not asked by someone to serve, volunteer by going to Loran Lance, Campaign Team Lay Leader. There is a place for everyone to serve.

The Campaign Leadership Team will direct the workers in the campaign. The following people have been enlisted to serve on the Campaign Leadership Team.

Dr. Rick Smith, Pastor - No effort will enjoy complete success without the wholehearted backing of the pastor. Dr. Rick Smith has already shown that he knows the importance of this effort. He will work closely with each committee and be the leader before the church body.

Loran Lance, Campaign Team Lay Leader, is to give general supervision to the campaign and preside at the Campaign Leadership Team Meeting. He will keep in close contact with committee Team Leaders who comprise the Campaign Leadership Team and most chairpersons will make verbal reports to him. He will be a valuable resource for each Campaign Leadership Team member.

In the Eklund Process the Leadership Team also becomes the Follow-up Team. Therefore, the team serves for the full 156-week-cycle of giving. The Campaign Team Lay Leader is the leader of the team during this period of time. As the Follow-up Team, they will be responsible for giving every new family coming into the church membership over the three year period an opportunity to be a part of the giving process, plus keeping the campaign before the people during the duration of the campaign.

Stuart Birdsong, Spiritual Emphasis Team Leader, is responsible for laying a biblical and spiritual foundation upon which the entire campaign will be built. He will be responsible for the SPIRITUAL FOUNDATION Weekend, the 12-Hour Prayer Vigil, and enlisting people to give testimonies during the morning and evening worship services, plus the special Sunday school lesson to be taught in all adult and youth classes on Banquet Sunday morning.

Reggie Crosby, Prayer Visitation Team Leader, is responsible for building an organization that will make Prayer Visits into the homes of every church family. The purpose of these visits is to call the church membership to pray, not only for the building campaign but also for all the ministries of our church.

Roxanne Gray, Promotion Team Leader, is responsible for getting the building campaign message to the entire church membership. She and the people helping her (Kelli Anderson Adams - Brochure & Kay Lance - Banner) will be producing the campaign brochure, publishing the four campaign newsletters, supplying articles for the Sunday bulletins, and other important information concerning the campaign.

Doug Anderson, Advance Harvest Team Leader, and the people helping him are responsible for securing commitments from the leadership of the church prior to the Banquet.

Joyce Pugh, Telephone Harvest Team Leader, is responsible for organizing and directing the group who will call every church family (still listed on the Master membership list) between Banquet Sunday, March 28, and Harvest Sunday, April 11. The purpose of the calls is to encourage everyone to be present for Harvest Sunday and answer any questions church families may have concerning the Sunday and/or the campaign. She will enlist Division Chairpersons, who in turn will enlist Captains. The Captains will then enlist Telephone Harvest Team members.

Pam Bradley, Fellowship Team Leader, and the people helping her are responsible for the two dinners during the Challenge Meeting and the SPRIRITUAL FOUNDATION Weekend, plus refreshments during all the Consultant led training sessions and Six Leadership Team Report Meetings.

Lonnell Simmons, Banquet Arrangements Team Leader, and the people helping her are responsible for planning and producing the Banquet, plus the Children’s Party, and the nursery the night of the Banquet.

Joyce Blackwell, Banquet Hostess Team Leader will be responsible for developing a team of ladies to call every family in the church membership in order to invite each family to the Banquet and record the reservations for the Banquet. This group will also serve as table hostesses and greeters at the Banquet.

Roxanne Gray, Campaign Support Team Leader is responsible for ordering materials, preparing records, forms and copies necessary for the campaign; getting materials to the printer; getting out the special mailings during the campaign (With the help of Eloise Johnson, Joyce Pugh and crew.); and for various responsibilities related to the Campaign Leadership Team meetings. On Sunday, February 7, our church launched a building fund emphasis to raise money over the next three years in order to build a new building.
